Sherline Drill press
Good day all. I have a Sherline model DM10 which is a good few years old now. My problem is that I have broken the coil style belt and I am having difficulty finding a replacement. I was sent from shop to shop with all knowing about it but not being too interested in locating one for me. The problem seems to be that they call it a silicon belt and is not a V belt. Looking at the drill press the pulley wheels are not Vee'd so I have to have the specific belt. Is there someone that could guide me to a place where I can get a replacement belt?
Many thanks for any assistance

Put up a pic of the belt and the pulley profile, and approx dimensions, and we may be able to help.
See here for info on posting pics.

Thank you for your response and my apology for not getting back on the sire quickly to give you a reply. I was lucky enough to speak to my neighbour who works at some sort of distribution centre and she took the broken belt to work. A customer took it to his factory and made one in about ten minutes for no cost. Now I have one and just have to do a test drill to make sure it works. I am not sure how come but a friend of mine has the same model and the pulleys in his are black and vee'd so he can use a normal belt. He doesn't know much about it other than it was his late fathers so I don't know if it had the pulleys replaced or they came fitted. The pulleys actually look a lot newer so maybe I can change the pulleys on mine as well. Thanks again for your offer to help.

Sher was an Aussie company till they sold out to the US in the mid to late 70's. They did some odd ball things in the name of product improvement before the sale and there seems to be quite a bit in the US units as well.
Glad that you managed to solve your problem for the time being, but it would be handy for you to know what belt form is used in case you need another later on, at pressent you are a couple of steps removed from the info, and might get similar access in five years time.

Sherline Drill Press drive belt
I have just been given a Sherline Bench Drill model DM-13 It has obviously been sitting for a long time unused as the drive belt stapped as soon as i started it. It is a 5 Speed model and the belt is round (not a V belt) same problem as SCAHWP.
Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?
