    Default Shopping List

Ok, so i am going shopping for some new toys and need advice or opinions.
I am looking at getting a new:
SCMS: Like the Mak but will consider others, top end machines only as long as they come square and plumb. I can fiddle a bit but generally like to rely on settings out of the box, need suggestions. 10 inch or 12 i havent a clue, is bigger necessarily better?

Router: I have a Hitachi fixed to a Triton Router Table and it has been bloody terrific but i do need another for free hand work. Another Hitachi perhaps? Very open to suggestions here but must be capable of taking 6.35mm & 12.7mm bits.

Router Bits: I have a box of 8 Triton pieces but really miss a few sizes at the 12.7mm inc the Roman Ogee among others. Do they make Ogees at this size? i need some suggestions of sets that are available and that are of very good quality or wether it is better to buy them invidually.

Have had a GMC SCMS for a few years and it served its purpose but it couldnt cut square if its life depended on it. It served its purpose but now is time to get some decent gear. It can still be used for general stuff of course.
    Very interested in others opinions.

    Router
although you specify it must take 1/4 and 1/2 in shanks, I really like that I can hold a 1/4in trimmer with one hand and run a molding along an edge
so I suggest you getting a 1/4in trimmer and pull the Hitachi out of the table when you need to use 1/2in shank bits
alternatively get the smallest 1/2 in shank router you can find – something arround the 1400W mark
    regards from Alberta, Canada
