Default Sourcing a good NVR Switch or switchbox

    Hi,

I'm selling my Triton Router Table as I'm building a new router table. One part I need to buy is a NVR (no voltage release) switch (switchbox). The one that is on the Triton Workcentre and Router Table is excellent - I loved them.

I can only find Triton spares with UK plugs on them, and they're pretty pricey. Google hasn't thrown up too many results for alternatives. All eBay and Carbatec etc have are the small NVR switches you find on drill presses.

Does anyone know where I can source a good NVR switch with a 'paddle/plate' type off switch (the type you can easily hit off or knock with your knee)?

    Thanks,
    Nathan.

Have you tried your local Hare and Forbes store? I've found they have a bigger range of switches than Carbatec/timbecon does.

^ Thats the one supplied by Timbecon, totally plug and play. Otherwise if you’re happy to wire up yourself then RS electronics have them for like 35ish dollars with free 1 day shipping.

Cheers for that elanjacobs, not much pricier than RS and includes the paddle which historically have been very hard to find in Aus.

I bought my last two units from eBay and wired them up myself with a male and female plug.
It’s No. 8 in the pictures in the link - make sure it’s a 5 pin unit, not a 4 pin.

I also bought my first one from one of our sponsors

I've use the same ones as Lappa's link right through the mens shed and also my own shed and had no problems with them

Maybe it was me? that said the 4 pin ones would not work but they do.
In the 4 pin version , the 5th pin is hidden and wired internally to enable the switch to act as a NVR.

5 pin versions are really only needed if you want to include additional circuit cut outs like a pressure switch to ensure a DC is on and gate valves open, or in the case of machines like a BS that the doors are closed.

Yeah I’ve noted the same Bob, the last two I received from RS were 4 pin with the 5th pin being internal. No problems in the last few months.

    Thanks everyone for your help!!!

Elanjacobs - this one looks like what I'm after, thanks. It didn't show up on Carbatec's site when I searched a few weeks back. I'll pick one of these up.
