    Default TCT saw blade sharpeners

Hi, has anyone bought one of the many TCT circular saw blade sharpeners..generally around the $300 bracket I was wondering if anyone has bought one of them and what was your experience.

I got one of the cheaper ones at about $140. It is a fiddle to set up but when you get there it does the job. As I mostly do the same combination blade it can stay set most of the time. Having said that the next bracket up($300ish) would be a better way to go as they look easier to set up.

Hi John and thanks for the reply. They look a fiddle to set up and I was wondering if they any good at all. It’s not hard on a Tormek T8 to spend a couple thousand dollars by the time you buy the jig and couple of jigs and the Japanese water stone. So seeing one of these for say $300 I was just wondering if they were simply rubbish.
A good circular saw blade can cost a bomb and not be be ruined by a cheap sharpener I suppose.

The old man bought one of the McJing ones, after tweaking it for a day he got it running pretty well, I still use it for my smaller blades for the hand held circular saws, but I don’t trust myself to do a $400 table saw blade on it, I send those to Leuco.

I agree with riverbuilder. If I had an expensive blade I would also send it out to be sharpened. In my case I had a few old dull blades about that are now back in use.

Ok thanks for the input. You pretty much summed it up by say you send out your good blades. The high TCT blade sharpeners are a lot of money to I think I will just continue sending them out.
