C/Tec vs H&F Room Air filters?
G'day,
I'm looking at a room filtration unit in the week leading up to the WWS as both C/Tec and H&F have their usual sales on.
Just got the H&F flyer for the 15% off sale.
To start with the H&F Model AP-10 AIR FILTRATION UNIT has:
• 620CFM Capacity
• Remote control ON/OFF
• Easy filter element maintenance
• Designed for ceiling mount
• Can remove most airborne contaminants and maintain fresh air circulation
* but it doesn't mention anything about an auto timer.
List price is $249 but it only moves 620CFM and only has a 2yr warranty.

The lowest model C/Tec version, the Carba-Tec 650cfm Room Air Filter http://www.carbatec.com.au/machinery...oom-air-filter has from what I saw in Stuart's video on his website different settings for power-off timers once you've finished in the shed. It has a list price of $369, which at this price brings it on par, price ways, with the H&F Model AP-12 AIR FILTRATION UNIT at $439 less 15% brings it to $373.
http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/Pro...stockCode=W326
Which has:
• 1044CFM Capacity
• Remote control ON/OFF
• 3 speed settings
• 3 timer settings (1Hr, 2Hr , 4Hr)
All three remove 100% of 5 microns and 85% at 1 micron.
The entry model of the H&F unit is out as it doesn't seem to have the automatic timer, but at 30CFM less than the entry C/Tec model, is there a decernable difference in 620-650CFM?
The 1044CFM model from H&F looks very good when looking at price points of $373against the 1700CFM C/Tec unit for $689 http://www.carbatec.com.au/machinery...oom-air-filter , but is it a case of you get what you pay for between the two?
One other factor is that H&F only have 2yr warranties on their units, whereas the C/tec units have 3yrs.
Anyone have experience with both or reasons why one might be better than another? The figures are easy to compare, it's more about build and operating quality that I'm look for some direction on.

Waldo,
All I can say is after having the small Carbatec room airfilter for a few weeks now, I'm exceedingly happy with the way it performs, it does a brilliant job of moving the air around the garage and filtering the dust out of the air. PM me if you'd like to come and see it in action.
Ross.

Waldo,
I'll add that I bought the Carbatec one because of price, warranty and from experience with past purchases, and backup sevice.
Hope this helps,
Ross.
