Perhaps some of the exploded diagrams on here will be some help. It's always the same story with bearings. They are cheap as chips but getting them changed over can sometimes be a job and a half.

Pulling these units apart is reasonably easy if you have pulled a few mechanical things apart and reassembled them before. Trying to explain how to go about it without pictures would only create confusion so I would just recommend that you take it slowly and don't force anything as everything comes apart pretty easily on these machines.
If you have a digital camera or phone, take photos of each section before you dismantle it so you have a reference when putting it back together. They do come in handy when you are trying to remember which way around an item goes or which part went on before another.

I have to agree with the photos being a great help especially with more complex assemblies and electrics. I am the kind of person that usually finds enough bits left over to build another machine doing it blind.

As a teenager I rebuilt the engine in my Cortina and had a number of bolts left over - never did miss them though!

Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and be very methodical. One of the online spare parts sites actually lists the bearing numbers so I can buy some up front before I start. And yes, the smartphone camera is a very handy thing.

If you have a bearing supply place close by you could just wait until you have it apart and get the bearings from there as they will be much cheaper, probably only around $5.00 each if a good supplier to industry. They will be just run of the mill bearings, nothing fancy and the parts list I brought up had the bearing Nos. listed so you could pick them up beforehand. Is it an AP13 model?
