Gerhard Am I correct in my assumption as his capacitor has an earth and 2 leads only that the .01uF has a 1500pF in parallel on one brush to determine rotation and the 1500 as the noise filter. Thanks Rob

Unimat Lathe / Wrong rotation / I'm back
Hi Rob & Gerhard & All , I've finally got around to putting my Unimat Lathe
motor back together ! I thank Gerhard for the time he spent writing to me about it . Unfortunately I didn't send him the photo of the Capacitor but I did send one to Rob & he worked it out straight away . Well after going through the hoops I finally got the Capacitors in the mail & then I could see exactly what I had to build. It took some time as it was such a small motor & sealed , dust & flame proof . It was like building a " Ship in A Bottle " type of work . Small and fiddly . I had to put in 3 Capacitors in the place where One did the job previously . ( the Original Cap is no longer available )
Any way today I fired her up again & as Rob said---- " You've got to try it
to see if the Direction is correct " I did and " it wasn't " !!!
Stripping it down again to put the caps around the other way . When I tried it the motor sounded great & I think it was the right speed .
OK , I'm off . Will write again soon as soon as I 've done the work .
Best Regards from Ken Weekes in Mackay , Qld.
