Default User manual needed for Carbatec Radial Arm Drill Press RDP-116

    Hi Guys
I bought one of the radial Arm drill presses from Carbatec a few years back, whacked it together real quick and have used it ad got frustrated with it since.
Don't get me wrong everything is good and I have used it for numerous tasks that would be beyond the capabilities of a "normal" drill press but...

the bloomin wobbles are getting the better of me and I can't for the life of me find the manual (and I have 20yrs worth of accumulated manuals!) in order to work out the chuck attachment ... thinking it's a stub taper.

Carbatec (Perth) apparently don't have an electronic version of the manual and I'm a couple of hours away

if anyone has the manual for one of these, is there a possibility of a scan/copy ... especially of the relevant page of removing and reseating the chuck, it would be much appreciated

    Cheers

    Default Stub Taper

OK then anyone know how to remove a "stub taper"??
I'm lead to believe from Carbatec that that's what's holding the chuck in

not familiar with these drills, but usually what holds a chuck in place is a morse taper. You need some kind of tapered drift - wind down the quill and you should see a slot put the drift taper down in the slot and hit with hammer. chuck sould come out.

    Default No Slot

    Thanks Steve
    That was my first thought
    No slot in column/shaft
Guy at Carbatec said it was a stub taper (I didn't feel he was confident)
Looked up stub tapers and it looks like they exist ... just a short version of the morse taper but no slot so um unsure about shoving some wedges between the chuck and the ??? (can't think of what I might wedge between) and bashing daylight out of it ... I'd like to be sure it's the right approach first
Thanks for your ideas all the same

I'll still welcome more ... especially if you have one of these
