OK, I had a look at mine, and the filter is the same dimensions you specified above. The contacts for the place that sells spares for them is Ph: 1300 130 579 or web: ROSSMAC.COM

I have a feeling they aren't cheap from there either but can't remember.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Aaaargh! I went to their ebay store. No items for sale.

Thanks for your trouble. I will ring them tomorrow.

I have a Bunnings one (can't recall the brand) and they have had replacements on the shelf ever since that look identical to yours in the photo.
Mind you, now that you ran into this problem, I'm going to buy a replacement from Bunnings this weekend, just in case they choose not to stock them any more (fingers crossed they still have them).

I did try Bunnings and they said they didn't have them, but I have been led astray there before. I might ask again. The Toowoomba store is normally one of the better locations.

Godfreys would be another place to try - take the old one in and see what they can do. They carry a lot of spares for vacuums.

Can you let us know here the outcome. Yeh or Neh.

I have been away over the weekend and have had no further luck. I have been trying to contact Rossmac (unsuccessfully so far) and have thought that other branches of Godfreys could be another avenue as I suspect they are a franchise and the stores may vary. Bunnings may be a similar situation, although not a franchise.

On 29 May I bit the bullet and ordered a filter that looked OK from the UK.

It arrived this week so a turn around time of about seven days and it fits perfectly. If I could have been sure of the fit I would have bought a couple.

The filter is about 20mm deeper, btu that is no problem at all. I f I had wanted there was also a wet and dry filter available (at a slightly higher cost), but I don't need that and of course at that point I was unsure as to the fit. Cost was around $25.

Thank you for all the help supplied.

Have a look at vacbagdirect.com.au. They have a very large range of sizes and shapes. You might find something that can be adapted. Not knowing the brand, you can email them with the size and they will try to find one for you. I found their pricing quite reasonable. Usually between $20 and $30 for a cartridge type filter. (I have no connection with them, etc. etc., but have found them helpful).
