I have the Unimig. The good thing about it is it's solar powered. Speedglas Utility isn't -it's a battery only. Plus Unimig has adjustable shade, delay and sensitivity controls. Speedglas doesn't, I think.

Speedglas make some real good stuff but their bottom-of-the-range isn't that special.
    Comfort-wise the speedglas is good.

Unimig doesn't seem as solid but for occasional use if you look after it you should be alright.

The Unimig is a better buy. A variable shade is a good thing to have. Also you have good warranty with Unimig
with Speedglas you pay a lot for the name but there is a lot of good competition on the market now.
Dont leave it around wrong way up when you are grinding steelbox it

I think I saw Glenfords recently advertising a WIA for $99, but I could be mistaken.

While I haven't actually used a Speedglas I can agree with you about the UniMig shields.
For what they are, the Hornell shields are way overpriced. I am getting a UniMig AUS ACE
next week. Really big (97x60mm) viewing area, variable shade, sensitivity and grinding mode for $360.
That doesnt even get me a Speedglas 100V
The UniMIg shield looks very much like a Miller Digital Elite and it's light and comfortable,

Get the unimig, ,ainly because it is the same auto lense as the Miller and have the comfort of the 12 month warranty. They are good auto lense and will give you many years of welding use.
