Default Argon Regulator flowmeter - orientation.

This seems like a really dumb question, but I've searched without result - so here goes.

I have an "E" Argon cylinder from BoC. It has a side entry for the regulator.

My regulator/flowmeter when oriented "logically" with the flowmeter vertical has the connection pointing vertically down.

If I screwed it into the E bottle the flowmeter would be lying horizontal.

The obvious??? thing to do is loosen the flowmeter and rotate it 90 degrees. (then tighten it!).

Then the flowmeter would be vertical with the pressure gauge and regulator assembly lying horizontally.

Is that the right thing to do, or is there another moe appropriate solution?

    Yours sheepishly.....

    Hi
Never let it be said that I left a fellow resident of the great
    FNQ in the the lurch.
Though I am beginning to think FNQ stands for flooded North Queensland.Global warning crap!, Its going back towhere it was 20 years ago.Bosses weather every weekend for a month!

As far as the flowmeter goes, if the the tube and floating ball type keep the tube vertical. If its a gauge with a radial reading needle, just suit yourself.

    Thanks Graeme,
I'll post a piccy when its connected up. The ball flowmeter will be vertical, but the regulator and pressure gauge will be "flat on their back".

    Regards
