Beware of retail pricing in Oz ...
I've become a little shocked and stunned when it comes to the blatant price gouging by a certain retail tool outlet with the words "total" and "tools" in their name.
Something as innocent as a an on Unimig 400g nozzle dip ... Try $18.85 compared to $10.90 at TradeTools
I started paying attention when I paid $85 instead of $50 for a roll of MIG wire and when I complained I was met with Total Silence.
No different to a lot of retail I suppose but sadly you have to shop around for a fair price on everything these days. Gone are the days when you could just rely on your trusty local to sell you things at a fair price ... now we face centralised scheming corporate price strategies designed to trip you up and rip you off.
Until recently I shopped trustingly where it was convenient and I believed the incentive programs had value ... yep, I was a SUCKER! In the past my habit was to price a significant item but then pick up a bunch of lesser stuff without thinking about the price but no more!
