Just an update on how the machine is going...
The gas solenoid is continuously not closing at the end of a weld, seems to be sticking open slightly. I have had the solenoid out and open to clean and doesn't help. I am borderline about to buy another solenoid to replace it entirely.
The contactor (switch) on the tig torch has failed internally, Intermittently doesn't work.
Other than that, the welds are fine, the action of the machine is fine, still happy with my cheap tig - just a little frustrating at times

Thanks for the update BenM78.
Great to hear how some of these units are going out there. Only had my Everlast TIG a month or so, put one E bottle of gas through and seems like a nice machine, but yeah I suppose they are built to a price so time and use will tell.
I too am stoked that I could afford a TIG finally.... after years of wanting wanting.
I hope that your problems are minor and easily sorted and if that is all the worry you have with it, you are doing fine.
All the best..

Hi,
Have any of you tried the pedal and can comment if they are worth it?

Yeah Andrew, I assume that you are talking about a pedal to control the power output of the TIG power supply.
I am only fairly new to TIG or revisiting it after 20 years, but I have found that the pedal is almost a must with Ally and handy with Steel as well.
I think that some like just the hand piece with 2T control using the up and down slope to control the power. I have tried this with some success and will have to use it in some situations, but wherever I can use a pedal, I think I will.
