Default Braizing without hiring oxy bottle

Is it possible to get a system with enough heat for braising without hiring an oxy bottle.

I have seen the LP and oxy setup that plumbers use but I would not use it enough at home to warrant the cost of hiring an oxy bottle.

Years ago you could buy "oxy sticks" that went into a container for use with LP gas but I have not seen them for a long time now.

I suppose want I want is a "hobby braising kit".

    Does such an animal exist.

    Thanks
    Macca

The Solid Ox that Grahame linked to is the unit that was originally mentioned. To the best of my knowledge, the Ox pellets are unobtainable. They had a fairly short shelf life, absorbed moisture, and initiated rust in any ferrous material within a couple of metres, including the job if ferrous.

How do i know? I had one, and found it a fairly useless system. A bit like a Weber BBQ, you have to load it up with fuel, light it and then waste any pellets at the end of a job because you can't stop the reaction. The other alternative was interupted work because you only used a single pellet for economy, but spent so much time replacing them and getting the reaction going again.

Thanks for the replies. It would appear that the Solid Ox is a non goer and I have researched the Bernsomatic on the web and it seems that the cylinders only last about 20 minutes.
It might still have to be LP and hire an oxy bottle.

Have you ever heard of an oxygen generator? I have seen them in some jewelry making shops in resort towns, they use them for silver soldering, I have never used them. I think they are quite expensive . Heres a link to one for sale in your part of the world. http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/for/942874302.html
