Chain Saw Powerhead workstand
I posted this in the Home milling section but I thought you guys might like to see it as well.
It's a ball and socket Chain Saw Powerhead workstand.
If part of the bracket looks like a bicycle fork that is because it is! I did that because wanted to locate the ball closer to the line of the COG of a saw. This means the ball can be smaller and less locking force will be needed to hold the saw when it is vertical. This bit works well.
However, the ball is too small so the range of movement is somewhat limited. I'll probably modify this sometime using a bigger ball. The socket should also be angled at 45 so the saw can lay right over.
The bottom support has a 150 mm long piece of 6 a 50 mm steel tab welded to the bottom so it can be mounted in a vice or attached to the side of a bench with bolts.
Sometime or other I will turn up a knice knob for the locking handle.
