    Default Cheap hard facing rods??

    G,day blokes,
    just need to hardface some wear strips on a big old farm excavator bucket and looking for a source of less expensive rods .Tweed/ Goldcoast area.

    I don't know if cheap and hard facing go together...Considering the effort and time needed to put it on I would be reluctant to go out and buy the cheapest hard facing rods I could get as they simply won't last

    Personally I would use Cigweld Cobaltarc 650's or Cobaltarc CR70's or the WIA equivalent..

    From memory you would be looking at a bit over $100 for a 5kg packet but 2.5kg packets may be available also...
