CIG transarc 300
Hi all,
Picked up this badboy locally the other day. Another Grays pickup. Did the usual bid thing at the start. No one else seemed to want it. Cool.
My measly 3ph, 10Kw (Chiwanese) gen set seems to handle it without issue. Turned the amps down before initial testing. Genny didnt protest, so progressively amped it up without trouble.
Its got an internal fan which still goes.
Plenty of grunt for my purposes.
On the arc welding side of things have only played with smaller single phase stuff before now.
Only real issue I have found to date is the amp control winder on top is a bit stiff.
Assume I cant really do much about it?
Didnt think it would be a bright idea to open the case and try to put grease on it?
That and I have to cough for a new handpiece. Old one is missing half of its plastic handle, exposing the terminal right where one has to grab hold of it. Employed some rubber sheet and duct tape for testing purposes.
