Leaf spring repair
The 1 ton ute snapped a rear leaf spring in half recently (pic 2) so i need to fix it asap , the springs still work but make a noise when turning right and the leaf is moving backwards (pic 1) and will eventually fall out soon.
Whats the best way to weld it back together ? i was thinking overlap the spring bar approx 10mm either end and then weld it top and bottom plus the side where it laps for a strong joint , a butt joint would be ideal but probably not as strong , its only 5mm thick so overlapping it wont matter too much , plus i'll knock a few mm off it after i grind it down. I'll post up a pic after i finish but
Any tips would be helpful . Thanks guys.
