    I've got a question.
What is the oxidation caused from? (Brown stuff)
Using ArgoShield lite. Not enough gas coverage, perhaps?
It's not oxidation, it's silicon fron the wire.

It's also a normal byproduct of the welding process. It is not a defect.

I use Argo lite on non coated bare wire and get the same after effect. Quick wire brush removes it. I often wire brush afterwards to check for fine defects and it also helps show up any fine splatter so I CAN REMOVE IT.(Oops, bloody caps lock!)

This is not a recent obligation! The Commowealth Trade Practices Act applies andhas required this of retailers since 1974! All that happened in 2011 is that all States and Territories made adopted a national consumer law - meaning all the terms and condition are worded and applied identically. Too many retailers, even large ones try to push customers back to manufacturers or distributors - the law is clear: the retailer who sells it has the warranty obligations as well as those fit for purpose and quality provisions you referred to. The is only one contract in the sale - between you and the retailer. The retailer will have another one with a supplier, distributor or manufacturers, but that's not a concern for your rights and their obligations to you.

    Hi all
    Yes very right.
But shops ,stores are trying to send you back to the importer.
Eg Aldi is one after 60 days. For warranty claims ring the importer.
I did lay the law down with them.
They said its not how we do it.

ended up going to our MP.
It got them in line with our laws.

    Tony.
