1.2 wire is a bit heavy for a mig that size. you will find it harder to fine tune you're wire speed. Even with 1.2 you will still need to prep you're beam.

I think the only reason to use 1.2 is for hard facing, since that is the smallest size I have found hard facing wire to come in.
Nope, I have already investigated that..It is the resistance in the wire that limits the input amperage..
