    Default Mig welder advice

Hi folks, I was wondering if there were any forum members in Adelaide that have the Cigweld 175i mig welder or a 200-255 amp mig welder. I have looked through the threads regarding mig welders, however I would like to talk with the owner/user of a mig welder in the 175-250 amp range. Any help/advice would be extremely helpful before I actually go out and buy one.
From all of the threads that I have read there still seems to be a divided opinion between the older mig welders and the inverter mig welders.
Once again any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers Alby

Hi Alby, I have a Cigweld 250 that I bought new in 2003. At that time it was the largest I could get in single phase.
It has served me well, with use of about 20 rolls of wire. From what I can understand, is that the inverter is used for polarity change used in ally or stainless, I could be wrong? Please correct me, if that is the case.
I bought mine from WESS at Wingfield who service and repair all types of welders, who advised me that this was the best option.
Contact me to try or for more details.

    Default Lincoln Power Mig 180C

I've had a Lincoln Power Mig 180C for 18 months and couldn't be happier. It's easy to use, parts are readily available and (touch wood) it's never let me down. It also makes me look a much better welder than what I am (welds look like bird droppings with a stick or previous CIG transmig). I believe they cost well under $1000 these days.

Thanks for the quick response fellas, however I decided to take some time out and I'm at Rapid Bay for the week fishing. Yeah I know , but somebody's got to do it, so I'll be back in Adelaide next week and I'll make contact and work out a suitable time to see your welding machines in action.
    Cheers Alby
