    Question Migshield vs Argoshield

I've got a CIG Transmig 135 for light fabrication work with black or zinc plated mild steel.

Most of the work is on 25 x 25 x 1.2-1.6 box tube with the odd bits of RA and plate not going much beyond 4mm in thickness and maybe a little sheet.

The unit is currently loaded with 0.6mm wire (which I might replace with 0.8 or larger at some stage) and to date I've been using Argoshield 54 and found it more than adequate (decent penetration and very clean in terms of spatter and appearance).

Has anyone used the Air Liquide Migshield M1 gas? I've had a few people swear by it but I can't find any info on it. Pricing seems to be very similar to Argoshield.

Just thought I'd ask before I get another Argoshield 54.

    Cheers!

The responses from local suppliers / welders has been hilarious!

The BOC Agent - "Yeah, the Argoshield 54 is the cleanest weld you'll get"
The Air Liquide Agent - "Yeah, your can't go wrong with the M1!"
The local welding shop - "We use whatever is cheapest"

Looks like I'll go for the Argo 54 simply becuase I've used it (and it works well) and I can't find a spec of info on the M1 product...

    G'day.
I've only ever used Migshield for my home welding.

The only reason is that the Migshield dealer was open on the saturday that I picked up my welder. The BOC dealer wasn't open.

We use Argoshield here at work and I can't see any difference between the gases.

    Thanks.
    Hooroo.
