Oxy regulator pulsing
Hi Guys,
today my oxy reg (Cigweld Series 660) starting pulsing when in use. It pulses about once per second and the pulsing rate increases as I increase the pressure. The pressure guage needle flickers in time with the pulsing and the flame pulses too.
Before I pay CIG to have it serviced is there a quick fix for this problem? Is it possible to service the reg myself?

Hi,
It may have a hole in the diaphragm causing this to occur. It is never a good idea to try to fix them due to the high pressure within the bottle.

Jack low bottle is usual sign but check that the regulator is seated properly slightest bit of dirt etc will not seal and of course has potential danger written all over it. Also could have grit or dirt in the nozzle already which may have worked its way into the regulator.
As to servicing the regulator

Thanks fellas,
the bottle is full, so I'll check the seating of reg in the bottle. If that doesn't fix it I'll have it serviced.

did it happen to have fixed it's self after you removed it, cleaned it or changed bottles? did you find anything? O ring was ok? build up of sh#t in the seat some how?
ive still got the old cone shaped cig guages, handed down to me from my old man, still work, perhaps your cranking them up too high?

I initially suspected global warming.
I removed the reg from the bottle, checked the o-ring and replaced the reg. That's it. Hopefully it stays fixed.
