    Default oxy welding help

    just got my renewal from boc , for cylinder rental , is there a cheaper way? feel i should get a better deal on rent and gas cost any thoughts leads most welcome , thanks Bob

    There is a small torch you can buy with disposable bottles, but it is only cost effective for small jobs and occasional use, you can cut with it but only light material.
    After about 30 years of paying cylinder rental I switched to the above and am very happy with it.

    G,day , what did you swap to ? I cant see any link or attachment. Yep hiring oxygen bottles soon adds up espescially if not used sometimes for months on end.

    Here is the link to the setup I got, as I said only good for small jobs and occasional use. For me it is perfect as I only siver solder or braze something maybe once every few months. Oxy bottle is only good for 20 - 30 minutes, costs about $25, so you can see not cost effective for a big user.

    If the job is not too big, you can usually silver solder and sometimes braze with an LPG/ air torch. Oxygen is not always necessary. Depends upon what you are doing....
