Thoughts, Recommendations for low amp plasma gun
Hi fella's (and shiela's, if there are any here),
I have a Thermadyne, Thermal Dynamics "Drag - Gun" Plasma cutter. It's only good for up 1/8". It has it's own compressor on board, I find it handy for thin stuff. I have owned it from new for maybe 8 or so years and have now run out of the consumables that came with it, it's not used very often though I am soon going to set it up so it's handy and I can use it easily.
I found the parts on line in USA but they add up quickly, eg pack of 5 electrodes USD46.10, pack of 10 tips USD65, 1 gas distributor USD24.14, 1 shield cup USD39.96 . Unfortunately the place doesn't send anywhere overseas except Puerto Rico.
PCH-10 Plasma Torch Replacement Parts (Drag-Gun)
I am thinking about possibility of swapping to a low amp Chinese gun, the guns and consumables are quite inexpensive.
On the end of the "Drag-Gun" I found 12AMP/85V.
I see various model guns mentioned in Ebay but I don't know which models are low amp ones. Would it matter if I got a higher amp gun, so long probably, that it wasn't too much higher.
So just asking for thoughts and possibly a recommendation of a suitable and reasonable quality gun.
Cheers.
If I'm not right, then I'm wrong, I'll just go bend some more bananas.

You can get them here for a lot less
Thermal Dynamics PCH-M25 Plasma Cutter 9-4476&9-6006 25 (PCH-M25-01) [PCH-M25-01] - US$30.00 : river-weld.com
I've used this company a lot and have found them to be very good, no issues at all

Thanks heaps. I had done some Googling but didn't find that site. I found some where the prices were way higher than the ones in my first post, they may have been genuine Thermal Dynamics parts.
My torch is a PCH-10, the parts for the PCH-M25 are the same except for the tips, mine are 9-6099 whereas the PCH-M25 are 9-4476. I don't know what the difference may be but am wondering if it's anything to do with orifice size as my machine (Drag-Gun) has it's own built in small compressor and I'm just wondering if the orifice is smaller so the compressor can keep the pressure up.
At that price I'll order a kit and hope for the best, see what's what with the tips. If the tips are unsuitable then I can source the 9-6099 elsewhere even if they are bit more pricey. The tips look pretty simple affairs so I could machine some up myself if absolutely necessary.
I was also thinking of plumbing my machine so I could use external air supply or internal, bit of valving and an extra switch on front panel to switch compressor on or off as required. I would only need the internal compressor if I was away from external source. With external air I may even be able to cut slightly thicker material or at least make 1/8 inch cutting a little easier/quicker.
Cheers.
