Tig Welding Courses
Can anyone tell me where I can do a short Tig welding course in aluminium preferably on a Saturday.
Or is there anyone interested in some extra cash (retired or similar) that can help at my place.Too many knobs and switches compared to my mig and I need to know the correct way to do things.
I live in the Lake Macquarie area (not thinking of moving anytime soon Graheme ?)

Hi ,
Its funny you should mention that.I was speaking with some one local the other day and they suggested the very same thing to me .
Apparently guys with a a few discretionary dollars to spare have been buying welding machines and have been flummoxed by the bells and whistles and need help getting them to fire up.
If it was local yes I would do ,but I am afraid my moving days are well behind me.
That won't be for awhile yet if it happens.I have a ton of work to do sorting out my new school job.

Hi Grahame,
I was in the garage today trying to sort out my new tig for aluminium and just pondered how easy the converted arc welder come tig (home made my old boss put it together) that I used back when I was in the trade, plug it in, turn it on,select amps and open the gas valve on the hand piece and away I went (only on stainless mind you).
Now I'm trying something new 25 years later with 5 switches and around 7 knobs or so.
Nothing will stop me so I will just keep plugging along and reading literature and forums until I get there.
If I get really stuck Peter from Tokentools is alway's available for great after sales support but I realise his job is to sell machines not teach people how to weld.
Thanks for your reply Grahame.
Regards, Bruce

Funny! I did the rounds of stainless fastening suppliers and boat shops in Newcastle, Warners Bay and Toronto today, back in Muswellbrook at 3pm, would have been happy to call in and give you some pointers. You are welcome to come for a run up to Muswellbrook for the day and I can give you a hand!

Stringy
Thanks heaps for the invitation, if I don't sort it out myself or find someone local in the near future that would be great if you could give me some pointers.
Regards, Bruce
