Hi all. I have an early 90s CIGWELD transtig 180 that has broken down. After finishing an ally weld while the welder was cooling it popped the CB. Investigation found what I think is a surge filter had overheated and burst probably shorting out causing the CB to trip. It is attached directly to the active, neutral and earth at the mains input point. The welder fires up without it in the circuit but I am not game to try welding without it just in case I damage the welder. I can't identify this filter nor find any info on the web. Local electrical stores look at me blankly. It almost looks like a clear plastic fluorescent light starter and about the same size. It is wired red, black and earth to two flat capacitors then to the corresponding colour input wires in parallel. Can anyone identify it. A name and specs would be good as it is so old I may have to put an alternative in. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
