I havnt posted here for a while and have owned a unimig 190 since new.
Just wondering how successfully welding with gasless wire compared with the standard wire is using argon gas.
I ask this as I have always used gasless wire and havnt achieved good results. It maybe my set up etc. I'm a hobbyist so not a professional.
I've owned the welder for over ten years and have only recently downloaded a more detailed manual considering when I purchased the welder it was only a 6 page brief booklet.
I've had trouble with irregular feeding of the wire whilst welding - changed the liner and fittings on the hand piece, however it still feeds irregular. Ill be looking at the rollers to be sure it's meshing with the wire correctly. I'm using the standard wire - I think its 1.1mm.
This is a dc mig, just wondering if anyone has tried welding aluminium with a standard mig gun rather than the spool gun.
The spool guns aren't cheap - just interested to know of anyone's experiences or advice.
