Default voltage settings aust / usa

trying to run core shield 8, 2mm last swing out in the bush and had dramas. went on the net and got voltage settings and stuff and computer said 23 volts and 350 ipm wire feed. set machine up like that and no good.( lincoln vantage and, yes, LN25.) went up to 28-29 volts and hey not bad. question.....are american volts different to australian volts in that our 240 is different to their 110 or whatever and our 50 hertz etc.....

The difference could be in your supply from the GPO

Some times when running off a grid system peak hour so to speak delivers less volts than than what the GPO is rated at.

If the GPO is only passing 220 volts ,maybe someone up the road is running the swimming pool filter and 2 airconns and you only seeing whatever is left over at your GPO.

Simple physics says if less goes in less comes out,Jot you setting down(-used to write power settings on the machine itself for next time.)

    Does it help?

I use different Lincoln generators, a Vantage 575 and a 405 Ranger with LN25. And the volt settings seem to be way different it always confuses me. I use about 23v on vantage and 27 on the ranger. Not sure if helps.

yeah thanks, LN25's can be a real pain in the #### at times and they've usually got dozens of different paint marker dots or scratches around the dial where previous blokes have marked their settings.....pick one and run with it.....the voltage thing is a curly one, trial and error is usually the go.
