Welding rust 6010 or 7018
I'm putting a new floor in a 2t trailer and doing some rust repairs , after i removed the old floor (mission) the angle frame is rusty rust , still thick steel but dimply rust all through it . My fluxcore no good for this job , so out comes the stick , is 6010 or 7018 rods better for rust ? i tried 6013 but is too pooris and didnt work , just made a mess.
What is the recommended angle when upside down overhead , is it poke it directly into the steel and drag it or angle the rod back and drag it ? only doing 3cm -5cm stitches and tacks. Is more amps better for rust or lesser amps ? Thoughts please
