1940 MBT combination machine
Gday all
my grandfather just past away and he left me his1940 MBT combination machine
for those of you who dont know its a table saw with attached jointer and mortiser. and australian made!
at first glance it looked like a rusty piece of a relic, but on saturday i blew away the dust and cbwebs and its was almost as new!
i stated it up an worked away on it for a while figurig out all its features. pretty awesome machine.
so my quam is, sadly i dont have enough room for it at home. so i was wondering if anyone knew if it was worth anything.
and whether some one would like it or perhaps know someone who would or even a museum.
thanks for any feed back and experise!

Hi Craig,
I had one briefly...https://www.woodworkforums.com/f221/c...planer-136645/
Loved it although my house's electrical set up didnt. I ended up selling it for a couple of hundred, similar units but different brand go for anywhere up to $400 on ebay.

Good luck with it,

I don't have the combo machine but I have just the MBT jointer which served me well for fifteen years as part of my onsite machinery along with my compressor ( for nailguns ) and my Scheppach tablesaw.
They were very handy when we did fitouts as part of renovations.
Not as accurate as some other brands for doing fine work but more than useful as portable equipment.
I don't have the original stand but a mate of mine welded up a tubular steel one for me.
