The great(Not so big) saw give away 2023.
I’m having another caul of some old saws again, I’ve become quite a Tool snob, I’m also loosing interest in rubbing rust.
So, like the last big saw giveaway, the saws are FREE FREE ,FREE ,FREE to a good home, you pay postage and packaging,
Personally , I would love to see these saws go to people who are going to use them, not “ye I’m going to do that up one day mate, yeeeeee”
Even tho I don’t want these saws, there are quite a few good saws in there ,if your happy to give them some love.
This time it’s going to take longer for us to get your saws send off tho,
Last time we were a 3 min walk to the Post office.
I’m now a 6 min drive, and I now regularly work away from home for a week or two at a time.
We now live in the country!!
So ,we will require a little patience, but it’s a free Tool.
Some teaser shots, an then I will start posting later individual shots of the saws.
Also I’m happy to hold onto saws for you till there all Accounted for then send them as a package.
Cheers Matt.

Matt
The offer of these vintage saws is a very benevolent gesture. That one appears to be from Disston judging by the medallion and from the HK Porter era. It is probably a D-8 and looks to be about 6ppi in a rip configuration. It is surprising how well these saws clean up and can be quite a bargain at that price.

Next saw,
I would keep this one if I didn’t already have a few similar ones.
Cheers Matt.

What I deduce
Matt
From the pic it appears to be a panel saw of 22", which is a very handy size and, about 10ppi. The Warranted Superior medallion would indicate a British make.
Perhaps I should explain that if I appear to be butting in on Matt's thread, it is because I had an early involvement with these saws which seems like a long time ago now. I am just adding a little information where I can and such as it is.
Regards
Paul
Edit: Forgot to mention Beech handle. The crack would be easily repairable.Bushmiller;

Matt
That's a couple of handy panel saws one rip around 6ppi and the crosscut at 10ppi. The kangaroo medallion is almost certainly made by Robert Sorby and has some age to it with the nib. It is probably around the WW1 era.
