    Default Advice on Stanley frog?

    Hi,
Could anyone identify this frog . I think it's a Stanley no 4 but it has a flat base.
    Cheers

Looks like an early Bedrock frog.

    More info here.

    Best wishes

    Default hmmm

yes i wondered that. but the lever cap that came with it is unmarked name wise, although that could be a marriage of course. The frog has "A and 4" stamped on it and the l/c has "B and 4" stamped on it so I'm inclined to think they come together. hmmmmm. Thanks for the link though Steve. Useful in the future.

Does it have Stanley printed on it anywhere - eg the lateral adjustment lever?
I can't tell from the picture but it doesn't seem to have the ways cut into the sides of the frog base.
If not a Stanley then maybe a Keen Kutter K series that also had the sloped bed and frog.
Here is a pic of the ways cut into the lower edges of a Bedrock frog.

    Default No ways.

    hi scrib,
No there are no ways(if by this you mean channels on either side of the base) The Lat adj lever is to rusty to see a name on it although I thought I saw a Y.
probably have to stay a mystery.
