Barker twin disc sander
Hey fellas
Just noticed the disc sander on gumtree, sorry don't know how to post link. (disc sander )
Thought you barker/wadkin tragics might like to have a look. It's in good nick.
Actually I'm a bit of a tragic myself, I just bought a Wadkin BGP sliding table saw.
I was going to use it as is but seeing some of the resto's you boys do........ Thanks
Cheers

Well just about to post link, but Matty beat me to it. Not cheap, but it sure looks like a big bugger.
Andrew,
Thanks for dropping over to this section (I apologise if I am wrong and you have posted in this section before).
You said you purchased a BGP, is it the 1200 or the bigger 60? I have the smaller https://www.woodworkforums.com/f163/j...w-53-a-149296/, one of the thing I really like about wadkin is the availability of information (manuals etc).
I would love to see some pictures, if you want to start a post. I stripped mine down, as it was my first big project and it cost me practically nothing, so I wasn't too scared about stuffing something up. There was nothing too tricky about it, but if you need any help feel free to ask. Did you get the crosscut fence with it?
Cheers,
Camo

Yes Matty that's the one, big bugger hey!
It would trim the fingernails quick smart.
Not super cheap but it's in good nick.
I'm not in the market for one, just thought you boys might like to see it.
Camo, First post here. I looked in a couple of weeks ago following a search on a barker jointer.
Just happened to be a couple of days after I bought the BGP, which I am yet to pick up.
Pretty sure the saw is the small one. I'll get some pics up when I pick it up next week.
It's got the cross cut fence but no flip stops and the rise and fall doesn't work.
I'm a self employed toolmaker so I thought I should be able to make whatever parts needed if I can't find them.
Did get onto wadkin in the UK and they said to give them a yell with anything I needed and they would have a look for me.
Not sure they have what I need but they were quite helpfull.
I don't know much about woodworking machines of any age, just getting started, although not much different than the machines I use on a daily basis.
Bought the saw because it was cheap. Something to get started on.
Now i've been stuck in here for weeks reading all your posts.
Must say they do look pretty sexy when their done up.
Jacks thread on the big 26" planner was very inspiring.
I'll start a new thread when I pick it up.
Cheers
Andrew

Andrew and Camo I did see that on Ebay, a friend did allude me to it, he was not happy at all saying that it was my intellectual property and the seller had no right.
I see his point, but at the same time I had mixed feelings, kinda proud and yet stolen from, I did like how the seller said it was from a woodworking forum and not claimed it to be his own, that was something at least. I'm no saint my self when it comes to cutting and pasting information from the net, I guess in the end I am interested in learning about old woodworking machinery and I will always encourage other people to do so as well.
Camo, sorry I beat you to the punch line, all I saw was "barker", and nearly fell over my self getting there...lol
Andrew I would love that machine, just don't have the room, at a guess it looks like it belongs in a pattern shop or something ...
Guys, that is a big sander, " I don't use a docking saw any more, Ill just sand that 10mm off"...haha
Melbourne Matty.
