    Default Bedrock 604 1/2

    Hi All,
I recently picked up a dirty Bedrock 604 1/2, I don't believe it has the original lever cap or blade, and is definitely a bit rough but really don't know too much about it despite my best efforts ( I'm more of a user than a collector). I'll attempt to post some pics with this post (first post newbie here).
From what I can gather these are sought after by collectors, and probably won't get the attention that it deserves from me to bring it back to life, so would much prefer that it ended up in the hands of someone who would actually restore and use it.

    So I have 2 questions...
    A) is it worth restoring?
    B)does anybody here want it?

I'm located in Bendigo Vic, I'm quite happy to post it within aus, or we can organise pickup if needed. Cost.... Free to a good home. What goes around comes around etc, I've been lurking here for long enough that it is time to give something back.

If you want any more pics, or if you can help with any info about this please post, Mods if this is in the wrong place I apologise.

    Cheers
    Chris

I think it is worth restoring. Should make an excellent smoother with a bit of work. If you are looking for a user but don't want to restiore it, send it to me and I will give it a spruce up and send it back to you. I like restoring old planes

The Bed Rock #604 1/2 is quite valuable. Restored well, it may command as much as a new Lie Nielsen version, that is $250 - $350. The lever cap looks original.

    Regards from Perth

WOW!!! That much, well I bet Pac Man is glad you chimed in, it's so hard sometimes to know the value of these types of things, you think your taking something of little or no value (a project), and then it turns out to be valuable. Well at least he found out before the added cost of posting it back after discovering it's true value.

    cheers,

    Camo

P.S. Welcome Chris, and thanks for the post, we don't get a lot of hand tools in this section unfortunately

Thanks for the offer NCArcher, it's very generous of you, but Pacman sent me a PM straight away and got in first, so I'll send it his way and hopefully he enjoys it. I did think it would be worth a bit after it had been cleaned up, but the reality is I don't have the expertise to do it justice. Thanks for the welcome!

Tony (NCArcher) can I just check that you don't want it to use?
CWilding the rules are (when posted in the market place) that the first response in the post gets the goods not the first pm. If Tony declines then I would be happy to take you up on the offer

It's yours Paul, I don't need it. You have to do a WIP though.
And welcome to the Forum Chris

Well let me give you the , you are truly generous, that's some serious Karma you are putting out. Congratulations Pac Man or NCArcher, now comes the inevitable wait for time to pass until the restoration is completed.

    Cheers,
