Default Boker Saw... what big teeth you have!

Came across this 107cm ( 42") saw it has a handle marked with Henry Boker's logo. The teeth are massive at less than 1tpi. Any remarks, clues to original use, or provenance would be welcome.

    Welcome to the Forum

I think you have a one man crosscut logging saw. Boker had their origins in Germany, but a branch of the family established themselves in the US and Canada too . Their main line was cutlery and pen knives, but saws also crop up from time to time.

This is from a catalogue around the mid 1950s:

The top saw is the right shape and if you look closely to the top right you can see there are three tooth styles. Yours is the simple "peg" style. I don't know if they made the saws themselves or contracted out to a major saw manufacturer and had their brand stamped on the plate.

From the pic, the teeth look to be 3ppi or 2tpi. If you rub lightly and carefully in the area of the etch (see the catalogue pic for where this will be) there may still be the remnants under the grime: Use W & D wrapped around a small flat block with some lubricant for this. The medallion may clean up and give more information.
