Default Buffalo Forge Dost Drill Number 0150

    Hello All

I've been clearing out underneath the house and I've come across a post drill from Buffalo Forge Number 150. I'm trying to find out some infomation on it.

We know that it has been in the family for some generations and would like to narrow the date down so that we have some idea of who purchased it. We know that one ancestor was a ships carpenter and built his own home in Brisbane. I've attached a couple of photo for those that want a look.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Roy

    Hi Roy,

Vintage Machinery in the US is a great one for information on Buffalo,

I think looking through the catalog section gives a good indication of age by the numbers these drills were marked as, for instance 1890 to 1910 say had drill's numbered from 60 to 80 something, and it was not until 1920 that the numbers 124, 160 were seen, so I think your machine is 1920's and on.
have a peep for your self and see what you think.......
