Cheney made a good hammer. As well as one of the older US brands they are also known for their framing hammer with the nail holder.
Like anything, it's worth what someone wants to pay.
I picked up a NOS Cheney ball peen hammer with nice octagonal handles at the TTTG sale a couple of years ago for $10.
There was a set of 3, someone grabbed the other 2 but hadn't bothered with the large one.
I see on ebay you can spend $30 on a beaten up Cheney head with a broken handle.
The Tool Exchange has a bunch for sale as a guide.
Their prices are a bit steep for me, the owner is obviously happy to hold tools for a long time waiting for a top price rather than selling them at market price.
So if you wanted too actually sell yours, you'd probably want to set a lower price.
