What are these chisels?
Nearly done sorting out my grandfather's tools. I am curious about these old chisels. My initial thinking was that maybe they were turning chisels but the short handles on the complete two have me doubting that. As can be seen, one has the sharpening angle in the concave section and the others on the convex section.
Obviously a couple of new handles needed. How do I sharpen them?
Please excuse the dumb questions.

HPF, not turning chisels, but bench gouges, the bottem 3 are out cannel and the top one is a socketed in cannel (inside the cannel of the gouge).
Sharpening the out cannel is easy, treat as any other gouge. You can carve out a straight line in pine, rub with your favourite rouge and use that to hone your edge, in between sharpening sessions.
