Wadkin made a 12 inch dado set for their old machines and I am wondering whether there is much difference in performance using a 10 inch or 8 inch blade. Unlikely to be using more than 30 mm depth of cut. The arbor turns at 2800 rpm and a smaller blade will have a slower speed at the cutting edge. Will it still work OK with a slower feed rate.
Is it worth getting the blades drilled for a locking pin on a dado set.
