Step 5 -the thrust bearing has turned up (the critical measurement is that it has a 28 mm outside diameter). So push the quill to the top of the movable coupling and place the thrust bearing on top of it, then let it fall to the bottom of the movable coupling and let the movable coupling rest on the bottom bearing .

Step 6 -Using the top wheel, wind down the advance mechanism and once it
contacts the thrust bearing, lock it in place by tightening the screw.

Step 7 - attach the drive mechanism. First put the main drive gear on the fixed bearing rod and lock in place with a split pin. Then put the floating bearing rod through the main casting as shown and put the idler gear on that rod.

Step 8- mesh the idler gear with the main drive gear. Fix the idler gear by tightening the relevant screw onto the bearing rod.

Step 9 - attach the flywheel - push onto the other side of the floating bearing rod and fix by tightening the relevant screw onto the rod.

Step 10 - gets a standard keyless chuck with a 1/2" thread and attach it to the threaded part of a 1/2 " bolt (cutting off the head of the bolt). Then insert into the half inch diameter chuck end of the quill and hold in place using the opposing screws (fiddle with the screws to ensure that the keyless chuck is exactly centred on the quill).

Step 11 - add the advance cam lever and mechanism. First insert the movable cam lever bearing rod into the bearing in the main casting. Then push the cam lever pivot over the bearing rod so that the bottom rests on the cam part of the main drive gear and be mechanism at the top of the lever engages with the top wheel.

Step 12 - Stand back and admire your handiwork
PS Remember, I did steps 7-12 before doing steps 5 and 6 which explains why the advance mechanism is not attached to the coupling in the photos for steps 7-12.Cheers
