Well ... Powers-Samas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ... Pooo-Ahhh.
There is one of these at a well-known Perth machinery seller ... I'll get the photos off my phone soon

Paul,
I once went to a collection at a Grays auction, to find a guy yelling at the grays employee because there was no forklift at the site (or any lifting equipment), not the grays employees fault, but a fair call given that most of the items in the auction were far too heavy to manually lift. I could laugh at the time because what I had bidded on was small, and I missed out on a large bandsaw that would have needed a forklift for sure, now I call to check a forklift is provided before bidding.
I am thinking perhaps this might be a good solution in the future:
Cargo crane truck - 3/1989 Mercedes Benz Unimog UL1700L Flat Top 4X4 Auction (0002-5006257) | GraysOnline Australia
it's a gift for every serious woodworker. My wife is always complaining that the machinery I buy is far too heavy and hard to transport (I think I just saved myself a phone call).
If my memory serves me correctly the unimog has 8 forward and 8 reverse gears (so next time I buy an item at a residential address, no need to call ahead to see what someones driveway is like, I am sure I should be able to back it in).
Cheers,
Camo

Wolfenden bandsaw Foster, Victoria
Looks to have had a hard life recently:
Wolfenden band saw, Auction (0074-3003041) | GraysOnline Australia
Thought it may serve someone as parts, or a creative restoration (looks like the table no longer exists).
I have no association, so can't comment on condition other than what the photos show.
cheers,
Camo

Oueenslanders, take note.....
Saw this beautiful and very rare W.B.Haigh surface planer for sale, I have only seen one other in Australia.
This would be a wonderful restoration project, a motor change from 3 phase to single would be easy.
If I was living up there I would be jumping on this for the Historical value...

Re: eBay (and other auctions) Old and ancient stuff.
I was already watching this one, good to go know the change over to single phase wouldn't be difficult. I just have to remember to pay attention when it ends!
