Barterbuild,
That is a nice one, thanks for sharing (and congratulations on being the first to list a machine). The first thing I did was look at the location and..........Melbourne. I did a bit of a google search, and thought I might list these links that I thought might have some association (or not).
Not sure if this is the same company:
Eliza Tinsley
Photo of possibly the street sign for the company (bourke Street Melbourne)
Melbourne photo for the day : Melbourne Photos - Page 224
Possibly one of the local stores?
State Library of NSW Search - Manuscripts, Oral History, and Pictures Catalogue
first column 13th advert. 1951 (looking for a Female Clerk, sexist bastards)
17 Aug 1951 - Advertising
Fifth advert. down under machinery 1922
02 Dec 1922 - Classified Advertising
640-652 Bourke St Melbourne (heritage listed building)
640-652 Bourke Street (Heritage Listed Location) : On My Doorstep
Library list of Catalogue from 1903 for Eliza Tinsley Melbourne
Eliza Tinsley's machinery catalogue, 1903 | National Library of Australia
Thought it may or may not help for someone wanting to get some idea of the history of the machine and company.
To be honest I am not really sure how to treat this thread. Obviously the idea is to post anything that you see that you think others may be interested in buying (stuff that is either out of your area, or out of your interest or budget), or I guess even just items of interest and related to this forum.
If I have done the wrong thing trying to give some possible detail about the history, then I apologise, and I am happy to delete the post, but I was thinking encouraging discussion about the items would help to determine it's possible value (monetary and historic).
Cheers,
Camo

Well done Barterbuilt
Camo, yep that's the idea
Have a look at a similar thread in the Metalwork Forum
https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/eb...-stuff-149643/
Not confined to Ebay of course, Gumtree and other auctions come to mind.

Camo, I think its fine to have discussion on machinery here at least, I posted for many years on one of the American Woodworking Machinery sites and they did have a strict policy of no discussions of any auctions or sales and strictly no discussion ever on valuations or appraisals, they enforced these rules very heavily and members who stepped out of line were corrected immediately.
I never understood it my self, well, not discussing auctions or sales at least, the valuations and appraisals perhaps, there seemed too many variables with machinery to give an accurate idea of price, condition, type, age, etc..
A good friend of mine has a metal lathe of this brand, as far as I know Eliza Tinsley were merchants, I would really like to know who made that bandsaw.....
I'm up that way tomorrow....Mmm........

That's the sort of band saw I am after why are they always in Victoria. I have been looking for a while and they mostly come up interstate. Hopefully I or some one will spot something closer to me soon.
Regards Rod.

I think this type of thread is an excellent idea.
We may not be in the market for one but as we all like old machinery it's just good to have a look and waffle on for a bit.
How good would that machine look, restored and sitting in a foyer or the like ( my loungeroom maybe )
Be a shame to have to put guards all over it just to use it.
Matty, if you get up that way, give us the low down will you please.
Rod, it's not overly expensive to transport machinery. I am currently organising transport for a big jointer from Melb for approx 480 bucks to Coffs
Cheers

Camo, Rod and Andrew, I didn't get a chance to see the Bandsaw, just ran out of time, sorry guys !
I didn't even get a chance to wonder around the town, which is a shame because like most Goldfields Townships Castlemain is full of history.
Never mind, Ill try and have a look for a description in my catalogs...

Blade Guides
The blade guides are Wright guides made in USA;considered the BEST.
Probably a US built saw from early 20 century with Eliza Tinsleys as Aussie agents.
Check the American site OWWM Old Woodworking Machines Now Vintage Machinery.
I have the same guides on my 30 inch saw made in 1909 by the same Charles E Wright.
Cheers
Tony
PS the rear discs are easily modified to a ball bearing runner.

Old Dawn extraction fan?
Hi all,
Saw this scanning through, and nearly continued on, but something about the shape and form caught my eye (even though the photos are terrible). The impeller and housing looks to me to be a cast rather than sheet metal setup.
So have I finally gone crazy? Is it a piece of old junk, or is this a nice looking dust extraction impeller and housing.

Looks very nice;if I lived closer I would have a go.
Need to bolt everything down in the near vicinity ;might end up like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.
