Gilbro Combination Table Saw
My husband is quite ill and we are selling a large heavey Gilbro Combination Table Saw. It has a Planer and Dowling Jig. He purchased it new in the 1950's and is in very good working condition. My question is...what would a fair price be for Table Saw? Thanks in advance.

You will probably need to post a photo of it if you can or at least a model number/type.

It's always hard to give a price on old machines so as Lappa has pointed out take a look at what similar machines are being sold for. The machine does look to be in good condition. Only real test is to put it up with an asking price and see how things go. You can always reduce that later if there are no takers. Take a look at some items up on this market place to get an idea of how things are conducted. Prices often get adjusted. Good luck.

Thanks
Hi Everyone!
I had many interested in the machine but I sold it to the first buyer with an offer of $300. The man was a builder and my hubby took him through all the workings of the item. He said it was in fantastic order and was thrilled with his purchase. I probably could have got more money for it but the chap who I sold it to really appreciated it's condition and working order. I feel it's gone to a good home! Thanks for your help in this matter.

Now and then but I don’t know anything about Gilbro machines, just that more info in your post may have helped. Lots of knowledgeable people on here perhaps they can help.
Best of luckYou boys like Mexico ?

Sorry Jane, the two pics that you sent to me would appear to be separate free standing machines with individual home built frames and commercially sourced motors. A combination machine is a machine that combines 2 or more functions into a single machine, sometimes operated from a single motor, as in the Gilbro combo machine (tilt table saw with horizontal dowelling borer, and a 41/4inch jointer, supplied on a metal frame with a common motor) or with multiple motors where it easier to turn motors on and off to select functions than to change belts to do so.
Also, the saw in the picture sent is a home built timber work bench with a saw spindle, blade and motor added. It would bear no relationship to Gilbro other than an item of theirs may have contributed the motor.I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.
