Another mystery plane
Hi,
Has anyone seen one of these? There are no markings anywhere except for No. 4 in front of the knob. I got it an auction in England along with a Stanley No. 4 and a Stanley 110 block plane.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I cant help a lot other than my guess it was an import. Handyman grade planes made in the UK like Acron, Span and others have England or Made in England on the casting. My very first plane buy in the 70tes was a Span as it was 3 quid at the time and a stanley was about 5. I still have it as its surprisingly good. Anyhow that one looks to be in good condition. Have you tried it out.
Regards
John

Just a generic number 4 copy I’m afraid; nothing special.

Thanks, I'll tidy it up and give it a try. I thought I'd check with the forum just in case it could have some value before I make it shiny and sharp.
