Thread: Jeffwood tenon machine

Never see one of those, original color scheme, very nice piece if equipment !!
I noticed it doesn't have a cut of saw at the back as well, was that the missing motor part ?

Not sure what you mean of the cutoff saw. I`m assuming you May mean a precut line before the tenon is cut. if this is the case then you will notice some teethed cutters on the two horizontal heads that do the pre cut.
The missing motor is from one of the vertical cutting heads.
This is pretty much ready to go. needs a bit of a cleanup but otherwise looks in good condition.

Yes the tenoning heads do have scribe cutters to pre cut or score the tenon to give a clean cut, I was referring to a different part on the machine.
Tenoning machines can have a cut of saw mounted at the rear of the machine just to do a final trim on the length of the tenon as a last process.
I have also seen some european machines that have the cut of saw up front.

Your machine does look in great condition, a very handy machine for a Joiner to produce mortise and tenoned doors and sash windows.

What a wonderful beast of a machine ! Looks like a bit of TLC required to restore it to its former glory.

I was going to ask what it could tenon, but suspect the answer would be "anything it likes".....
