    Default Lightburn benchtop jointer 4"

I've just acquired one of these. It appears to be in good working order judging by the blade ( spindle variety) hasnt done a lot of work recently.
Can anyone tell me anything about this machine. I intend to use it for small jobs only in softer woods.

When I was 12 years of age and interested in Wood work my Uncle gave me this little Lightburn 6 inch Table saw, I ran it on an old half HP motor and was only allowed to use it under strict supervision.
Great little machine for what it was, and for a young fellow just starting out doing woodwork, I still have just the saw, it has just been sitting on a shelf gathering dust for many years.

There is a Heap of information on Lightburn on the Web, I was more familiar with Lightburn's Cement Mixers being in the Building and construction Industry I have Two of them Hand Powered and Electric.

    Power Tools: Lightburn

Your planer with sharp blades will be fine in soft wood, What size Motor do you have put aside to drive it ?

    Thanks Matt,
The fellow I obtained this from has already rigged a Bosch .5 HP electric motor to it and it seems to run ok.
Any clues on who I might approach about sharpening the revolving blade?
There are precison engineers in my area, and they were my first thought.
I'm looking forward to getting stuck in with this item.

Slash any saw doctor or sharpening service should be able to tackle that task.
With out having a look at the cutter head I would assume there should be a thin set of blades that remove from the cutter head and be taken away for sharpening, a close inspection should reveal some bolts or grub screws in the cutter head holding the blades in place.
Slash also, if your interested and in the Melbourne area you are quite welcome to have this lightburn table saw, I think the pair will go well together and complement each other.
Just PM me a message if you keen....
