A novel way to store & transport saws
Hi all,
Some time ago I had to sort out a problem of how to store and transport some back saws for a display
I ended up fitting a saw till inside an old travel case.

But I must say I would love to be a fly on the wall when your “requested” to open that case.
Cheers Matt.
If you are referring to a bag check at an airport, that will not be a problem as I have already been there done that.
Some years ago I flew over to attend a HTPAA tool sale, I had a great time adding about half a dozen items to my
collection of hand planes.
When it came time to fly back home, I had all the planes in my carry on bag, as I just thought it would be easier to
care for them.
There was an x-ray check point just before boarding the plane, as my bag went through, the look on the staff members face
changed to one of what the f.. ck is all this metal sh..t, in a very calm tool collectors voice I said that they were just some
old tools.
His calm reply was, that bag will not be going into the cabin, go back and check it in to go below.
I was not going to argue and did as requested, all the time thinking well, I was not going to hijack the
plane with the blade from my Stanley # 9 block plane so what was the problem?

What was the weight of said bag. Think of the damage if it hit somebody accidentally. Probably not much give.

I have been keeping my eyes open for one of those old suitcases, for exactly the same purpose, but so far have seen nothing at a sensible price. Yours came up very well.
