Pattern Makers chest with 200+ vintage tools
I have a Pattern Makers chest with approx 200 vintage tools that I am looking to reluctantly sell.
I am guessing circa 1920's. Would be a great shame to split it up, as all tools are stamped with initials E.W. and it is such a beautiful set.
90 % of items are Sheffield steel in excellent condition. I will be posting pictures very soon.
Contact me if interested or with any suggestions as to who I should approach who would appreciate such a fantastic collection.
Sorry, only had time to take this many pics at the moment.

Lots of pictures in fact.......
Even if you don't know what you've got, forumites should be able to identify the tools for you.

I would like to register my interest in buying this if it's what you say it is.
Depending on how much you want for it of course.

I only had time to take the following pics. Can do more later if required.

what have you done to the pics ? - they are a bit small to see much if any details of the tools - and I am sure a few others would like to see som close ups if possible.
thanks

Lovely stuff Zeitguy,
I'm having flashbacks to the collection of tools owned by the old patternmaker I was apprenticed to.
love to see some bigger pics.

Pattern Makers Chest w/ 200+ vintage tools.*New Thread
Sorry guys,
Was having all sorts of trouble trying to post pic's in other thread. And my original post disappeared.
Enlargeable photos are available at
http://picasaweb.google.com.au/kurtemail/PatternMakersTools##
I realise I would get more my splitting it up, but it would be such a shame I think.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This old Patternmaker wouldn't have had even 10% of those tools and I could still make a few patterns. Mind you I would have loved to own all of them when patternmaking but the wages we were paid back then you couldn't afford to buy them and the tool allowance was only 40 cents a week.
Seven handsaws how would you use them all?
I think he would have been more of a tool collector.
The trouble is today they would more suit a tool collector. Patternmaking is a dying trade what with Computers and CNC routers.

E.e.
About half the chisels (the older one's) are stamped with "E.E." the others with "C.E" and were possibly originally from Wales.
I am guessing was passed from father to son. I ended up with it by sheer accident, funny story actually.
It was owned by a "magpie" just before I ended up with it so some items have been added more recently.
