Old plane iron
Hi all. I am nearly finished making my second wooden hand plane and I am using a blade and cap given to me by a friend. The iron is stamped "Registered Trademark Sheffield" and the words surround what looks to be the stylized head of a woman with long hair. Any ideas?20190810_155740.jpg

Hi all. Update on the image. A small amount of research on the web seems to have revealed that the symbol is a Pharaoh. Still haven't got a name though

Thanks Colin. Pretty obvious really but min doesn't have Paraoh written any where. Maybe transitional? I have also noticed that while the plane iron is nearly full length the cutting edge steel had been laminated on to the iron Mitch closer to the business end. Lucky it's not a daily user
